Cody is making a difference at Otonabee Valley School

Several years ago, Cody went through Discovery, the process of uncovering the authentic self.

During this process, a couple dozen people (both paid and unpaid) who know and love Cody came together to uncover who this amazing young lady really is.

Cody absolutely loved having so many of her dear friends together all at once, and participants said that the process was so amazing, they'd love to go through the process themselves!

During the brainstorming of Cody's gifts and strengths, we discovered that Cody absolutely loves young children and she is a fantastic listener. We brainstormed where Cody might share these two gifts in a meaningful way.

A local public school, Otonabee Valley, was contacted. The librarian, Kim, was engaged in the quest for Cody to have a meaningful role to play at the school.

Cody began working in 2007 as the librarian's assistant at Otonabee Valley School, where she helps to return books to their proper places and listens to students read.

Kim has said that the students are always enthusiastic about taking their turn to read to Cody. We wonder if it's because of Cody's energetic responses to their efforts that the children's reading skills have improved.
